Revved Up

Twin Cities cover band co-founded by Toonie and drummer Cal, playing local stages for more than five years.

Revved Up is a local cover band that Toonie co-founded with drummer Cal more than five years ago. Cal is formerly of the band Legends and also plays in Rooms on Fire, a Fleetwood Mac tribute. Guitarist Alex joined about two years ago and plays left-handed; earlier, as a bass player, Alex played on a top 10 UK hit with Alison Moyet and performed on Top of the Pops. The lineup also includes Katie, formerly of Lipstick and Dynamite and Joyride, and bassist Ringo, who spent almost 20 years in a surf rock band. The band keeps a simple rule for booking: if a gig isn't fun, it should pay well, and if it is fun, it should at least meet the band's minimum. After five years, Revved Up gets contacted for many of its gigs instead of chasing them.
