Femmelectric

Seven-member all-female band covering songs from 1979 to about 2010 by all-women groups and female-fronted bands.

Femmelectric is an all-female band that plays songs from about 1979 to 2010, all first recorded by all-women groups or female-fronted bands. The band has seven members, with someone from every decade of age from their twenties to their sixties, and Toonie co-manages it. Each member plays a character with a set style: Doc is indie, Toonie is hip-hop, Doll is punk, keyboardist Kiki is boho folk, drummer Menards is grunge and Roller is funk. Before each show the band picks a color palette for its outfits, chosen to look good under each stage's main lighting color, like the red stage at Route 47 or the blue stage at Cowboy Jack's. Fans can collect stamps on Femmelectrician union cards at shows, moving from novice to master, and a master Femmelectrician earns free merch after five shows. Bassist Doc, a longtime flute player, started playing bass during COVID and also plays piccolo.
