The Walking Beat String Band is a five-piece string band from Rochester in Minnesota's Driftless region. It blends old-time country, blues and bluegrass with modern songwriting and a punk rock ethic, on upright bass, mandolin, guitar, banjo, harmonica and dobro, and all members sing. The band played Treedome in Rochester on June 4, 2026 with Jeremy Jewell & The Co-Dependents and released the track The Man Who Forgot to Die in October 2026.
