The Trash Cats

Duluth, Greater Minnesota

Duluth acoustic duo playing catchy originals and 90s alt-rock covers with tight harmonies.

The Trash Cats bill themselves as Duluth's premier acoustic cat-rock duo. Matt Sjelin plays keys and Sean Mahoney plays guitar, and the pair mixes original songs with 90s alt-rock covers. Their set at Wild State Cider during the 2026 Duluth Homegrown Music Festival was the duo's 53rd Homegrown appearance.
