Shane Twohy

High-energy bassist for the rock cover band Blackout who also plays with The Sellouts.

Shane Twohy started on saxophone, tried guitar at 12, and got a P bass for a 14th birthday. By the next school year Shane was playing bass in the high school concert band, and jazz band teachers steered the music toward Tower of Power, Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock. Pink Floyd, Steely Dan and Paul Simon records at home shaped a taste that runs across every genre. Shane's first band was the ska band Free Ambition, and at the Perpich Center for Arts Education Shane met drummer Dylan, a bandmate now for about 25 years. Shane has since played with the Clams, the jam band Sheeped, Crude, and Deuce, whose name the group retired and now plays as The Sellouts. Today Shane plays bass in Blackout, a rock cover band with nearly 200 songs in its catalog, known for a stage show that Shane says simply comes from the music.
