History
Lifter Puller was a Minneapolis indie rock band that started in 1994 with Craig Finn on vocals and guitar, Steve Barone on guitar and keyboards, Tommy Roach on bass and Dave Gerlach on drums. Dan Monick later took over drums, and Tad Kubler played bass from 1998 to 2000. The band released Lifter Puller and Half Dead and Dynamite in 1997, The Entertainment and Arts in 1998 and Fiestas and Fiascos in 2000. The compilation Soft Rock followed in 2002. Lifter Puller broke up in summer 2000. Finn and Kubler went on to form The Hold Steady. The band reunited for three sold-out shows to open the Triple Rock Social Club in 2003, and again in 2015 and 2016, including a set supporting Atmosphere at Red Rocks.
